It was with sadness that Linda and Edgar Gibbs went to the funeral service of Lionel Pollard on Friday 28th June 2024 at St John's Church, Danescourt.

For many years Lionel was a Committee member of Danescourt Community Association (formerly Danescourt Residents Association). He brought with him an in-depth knowledge of traffic management, especially traffic signs, and was also a regular attendee at Police and Communities Together (PACT) meetings.

Lionel always made a valuable contribution at these meetings. 

Others will remember him as a regular and enthusiastic allotment worker.

It was great to see a number of former DCA Committee members at the funeral.

Lionel will be remembered for his contribution to the community, his lovely West Country lilt and the twinkle in his eye, fondly recalled by his daughters.
