Danescourt is a large estate to the north west of Cardiff, in the electoral ward of Llandaff.
Danescourt was one of the largest private housing estates in Europe when it was built. Building started in the mid 1970s and continued until the early 1990s.
This web site is maintained by the Danescourt Community Association to provide information useful to those living on the estate or who are thinking of moving here

The name comes from some unlikely administrative logic. Before the building of Danescourt there were two buildings in the area, Radyr Court Farm and Danesbrook House. The planners at County Hall put the two together to create Danescourt and unfortunately the area has no known links with the Danes.

The area we now know as Danescourt, Cardiff was the original parish of Radyr.
St John's church and the orginal hamlet date back to the 13th Century. A manor house stood where the gardens of 5 to 19 Heol Aradur are now.
