Heritage Lottery Fund Success

We’re delighted to announce that the Insole Court Trust has been successful with its first round bid for funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund.

A first round pass and development grant of £165,900 is now available to enable the Insole Court Trust to prepare further plans for the round two bid for £1.9m.

A first-round pass means the project meets Heritage Lottery Fund criteria for funding and is an endorsement of outline proposals. Having been awarded a first-round pass, the Trust now have up to two years to submit fully developed proposals to compete for a firm award.

How we got here

– In February 2011 the Friends of Insole Court were offered the opportunity to take on the management of Insole Court, a Victorian mansion in Llandaff, Cardiff, through a Community Asset Transfer. The Insole Court Trust was formed and was successful in the first stage of the CAT. This enabled the Trust and Cardiff Council to prepare for the transfer with the help of Niall Phillips, architect from Purcell Miller Tritton, and David Clarke of DCA Consultants.

The Trustees have been working hard, holding fortnightly meetings to devise a future for Insole Court that will maintain community facilities and heritage interpretation, whilst also providing business and employment opportunities.

The plans for the Renewal of Insole Court will be available to view in the house in early January 2012 – see the website for more information.
