Know somebody special? PDF Print E-mail

We're on the look-out for Danescourt people who deserve to be in the spotlight and we need you to tell us about the stories that matter.

Perhaps you know someone on the estate who’s talented – a singer, an actor or someone who’s good at sport.

Maybe it’s somebody who’s a great traveller or who has a quirky hobby.

Or it might be someone who’s battling against adversity – ill health, for example.

And then again, it might be somebody you know who’s a good neighbour or who does sterling work for a charity.

Help us tell the Danescourt stories by contacting our editorial team.

Link Llandaff and Llandaff North? No thanks, says DCA PDF Print E-mail

Danescourt and Llandaff North should stay separate according to the latest review of controversial plans to link the two communities electorally.

The original plans would mean that voters in Llandaff – which contains Danescourt - and in Llandaff North, would be part of one ward, sharing four councillors for the City and County of Cardiff between them.

The Danescourt Community Association opposes that plan, saying that there don’t appear to be any community based reasons for the proposal.

The DCA points out that the two communities are effectively separated by the river Taff and, to a lesser extent, by the railway.  The only road link is the river bridge.

Now the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales, which is reviewing the electoral arrangements across Wales, has accepted these arguments and its final proposals say that the existing Llandaff and Llandaff North divisions should be kept.
