Larry Petterson PDF Print E-mail

Our Chair, Edgar Gibbs has written the following in appreciation of Larry Petterson, whose funeral was held on Thursday 7th March.

Larry worked for the NHS for an amazing 50 years. You would think he would want to step back in his retirement, but he continued to contribute to the community, by becoming a member of the Committee of Danescourt Community Association.

Larry was keen on buses and bus services and he saw a gap in the local bus routes. He felt that that there needed to be a service to the University Hospital of Wales for workers, patients and visitors. Fulfilling that need became Larry's mission and we were all delighted when Larry got a new bus service, number 65, introduced. Within the last year there was a move to remove the service. However, with pressure from the DCA, and a number of local Councillors, we were all pleased when the route was retained. It was renumbered to 101/102 and the route was enhanced.

Personally, I have used this service a number of times and will continue referring to it as Larry's Bus.

Thank you Larry.
